Wanting to Share - But How?

As I continue to push myself out of my comfort zone and out of my tendency to be quite introverted (yes-I said introverted), I'm inviting others to join me. Will you embrace courage in the face of fear and choose to shine and share His light? I could certainly use some cheerleaders and accountability partners on this journey. Will you join me?

You might be asking yourself like I am - how can sharing Christ become so natural in my life that it becomes a part of who I am on a day to day basis? Well, I've heard that to break a habit and create a new one, repetition is the key. I have also learned that how and what we think comes from what we believe; therefore, to see any long term change, we must start with what we know or still need to know (knowledge) and what we believe or think we believe (faith)...and of course, prayer. Then, we must implement daily changes by attempting...or by doing...or by possibly failing...over and over and over again. Hmm? Sounds challenging, and kind of fun.

In my search to increase my knowledge, I found a GREAT and challenging article from

that is right on point entitled:

Just like my friend, Linda Mize, in our previous blog and FB conversations, the article stressed the importance of prayer and a sensitivity to the Holy Spirit prior to entering into any evangelistic conversation.

It also stated, "The best preparation is to always be prepared with both the long and short versions of your testimony. You never know when a potentially life-changing conversation with someone might happen. Also, remember that God has promised to give you the words to say when you feel like your own words will just get stuck in your throat. Ask Him for this help."

The article then gives us a list of 25 ways to share Christ naturally...how to place yourself intentionally into on mission situations.

If you are at all like me, you want to jump right into the numbered to do list, BUT that is where I later often find myself dumbfounded as to why I didn't finish the list... and then mentally beating myself up for not finishing. Perhaps it is because I didn't do the foundational homework first. So this time, I will follow the instructions of the experts.

Our homework assignment is to write out our personal testimony, both the short and long versions.

Sounds pretty easy doesn't it?

But...you may think your testimony may not be exciting or profound enough. You may think that no one will be interested to hear what you have to say. Wrong! Sorry...you are wrong! Your story is a beautiful love story, unique in every way, of how the most amazing person in the entire universe, our Holy God, Creator of all in Heaven and on Earth, took the time and stooped low to pursue you with His amazing love and grace until you came into a loving relationship with Him! Now, that is a story worth telling and there ARE many people who are hungering, and dare I say, even dying to hear a story just like yours or just like mine.

So...let's get busy on our homework assignment and write out the short and long versions of our testimony, and then go over it again and again (repetition folks!) until we can say our individual story out loud without stumbling and mumbling.

 Matthew 5: 14-16
14"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

We can do this. No one knows our story better than we do, no one but God that is. If you need help, ask Him, He will help you find the words.

Will you join me?

Open Invitation - Let's Talk!

So here it is. I'm laying it out there for anyone interested in picking it up. This is an invitation to whoever would like to join me as I look for ways to daily share the light of Christ, whatever that may mean or wherever that may take me.

Will you share the creative ways the Lord has shown you on how to share His light and love...in practical terms. Sure, acts of random kindness are wonderful and should be done, but what about acts of random "light sharing"? Are they one in the same for Christians? I would say not always. What I am hoping to ramp up in my life is Holy Spirit inspired acts which lead to opportunities to share the the Gospel...to obey that "still small voice" courageously.

We talk about it all the time in church, but to be honest, I am a bit frustrated because I am feeling somewhat ineffective as a child of the King. I know I am meant to be sharing His love and light more often outside of the "four walls"

I want this to become so much a part of my life that it is like breathing, until it just happens continuously and without me being self-conscious about it. I want Christ to be free to use me however He wishes...spontaneously or planned.

Will you join me?
